Motorola has shown the chipset of the next handset via Weibo. The Moto X40 will be one of the first smartphones in China to use Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The Moto X series will be among the first in China to incorporate Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon SoC. That was introduced on Wednesday at Qualcomm's annual Snapdragon Tech Summit. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is a 4nm SoC featuring an Arm Cortex-X3 core running at 3.2GHz, four Cortex-A715 cores running at 2.8GHz, and three Cortex-A510 cores running at 2.0GHz. The new mobile platform is compatible with picture sensors such as the 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP3, as well as sensors that support Sony's new HDR format.
